DVD Writer Compatibility Utility for HP DVD Writer dvd100i The utility program contained in this download allows the compatibility setting or "mode" of the DVD+RW disc to be changed. Changing the compatibility setting improves the likelihood of playback in some, but not all DVD players and DVD-ROM drives. Some DVD drives which previously read DVD+RW discs successfully with the default setting, may not recognize the disc with the alternative compatibility setting. Because of this, the compatibility utility should only be used if currently experiencing problems playing / reading DVD+RW discs. A list of the currently tested DVD players and DVD-ROMS can be found on the following page: "http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?lc=en&cc=us&docname=lpg41401"> DVD Players and DVD-ROM Drives Compatible with DVD+RW Discs Note: The DVD100i must be updated to firmware version 1.91 and RecordNow must be installed on the computer for this utility program to work. After downloading, double-click the dvdbitset.exe to start the DVD Compatibility Utility installation Follow the instructions included with the utility install. After installation, start the DVD Compatibility Utility by going to Start - Programs - DVD Compatibility Utility, and then selecting DVD Compatibility Utility. Compatible devices: C9619A
